There was no difference between the sound card I tried and the on-board Realtek AC’97 with the stuttering although to be fair, the sound card is an older pci card – Soundblaster Live! Windows XP is not reporting any errors and device manager is showing no question marks anywhere. Select type of offense: Also no better result. From personal experience, I have never been happy with the sound quality or performance of onboard AC97 audio. I have re-installed my operating system 4 times now and even tried using the Standard PC installation, though the stuttering continued. I found the studdering disappears if I roll back sata driver in Windows XP Professional but clever Windows reinstalls the later driver.

By the way I found Non-beta 64 bit drivers for it, but they may just be the 64 bit beta drivers in disguise, I sudio checked yet. I’ve tried hardware acceleration changes for audio and I’m using the most current Direct X version.

A few people were advising others to turn off their cooling systems and I was baffled, not sure exactly what my cooling system was or where to turn it off in the BIOS, lol.
Ditto to that one, didn’t change anything.

My Acer Nitro 5 is dead I put jumper pins in the correct positions to disable the front audio panel, hoping that by making audio auudio to the rear panel that it would stop the stuttering.
Since you’ve already submitted a review for this product, this submission will be added as an update to your original review. I don’t think the problem is specifically the Sound Blaster Live! I think you are using a single Sata drive so maybe the problem exists with the controller.
