Replacing brcm1002 card is really inexpensive. Just Google the Broadcom part number. Remove the memory modules and you should see the wireless mini module. Which dv model do you have? From what I have read so far, this is a VERY common problem with the Pavilion DV they should have issued a recall on it since I have heard as many as 1 in 7 laptops of this model have this problem.
